There are several reasons behind the Paraguay is not one of the healthiest nations in the world. For example, Paraguay has had a few outbreaks of yellow fever in 2008, HIV / AIDS has also been a problem as well as malnutrition and malaria is a health problem, a few TB incidence and poor sanitation.
Health Problems
In 2004 about 15,000 people living in Paraguay were infected with HIV / AIDS. It is estimated that 21,000 people in Paraguay live with HIV / AIDS. There have been 823 cases of malaria, but no deaths from malaria. The prevalence of tuberculosis is Paraguay 6041. Although there are only 7 reported cases of yellow fever in 2008, remains a health problem in Paraguay.
Health
Between 1980 and 1990 the financing of health care increased with the national government. Since then, improvements in the health system have diminished greatly. In 2001, only 27 percent of Paraguay had no medical care or access to it either. Most healthcare is provided as public health, not private.
Health Insurance
Paraguay’s National Social Security Organization is known as Instituto de Previsión Social and it was established in 1943. At the time of establishment of domestic workers are not covered at all. Finally, late last year, all domestic workers are entitled to health insurance. The Social Security Institute covers hospitalization, not work-related illness, work accidents and occupational diseases, maternity, dental, surgery, medications, and a disability allowance. "In 1987 the coverage of health law extended to the worker's family in case of maternity, sickness and accidents.”Now, the Social Security Organization is trying to get all employers to register their domestic workers with them to receive this health insurance who do not currently have. Most employers fail to register their domestic workers, and because this, the employee does not know their rights and what they could have insurance wise.
