Nicanor Duarte Frutos, the former president of the Republic of Paraguay, was born in Coronel Oviedo, Caaguazú on October 11, 1956. At the age of 14 years, while still goes in the high school, he joined the Colorado Party at that time the most feared ruler, Alfredo Stroessner.

He then joined the Reconciliacion Colorada Movement, also known as MRC.

In January, 2001, began to prepare his bid for a possible operation in the party of government for the years 2001 and 2004. He was elected as the leader of the Parties on May 6, 2001. Then came forward and held this position until mid-2003. Finally, on August 15, 2003, took office as President of Paraguay. His period is from 2003 to 2008, and then also become the 11th ANR-PC consecutive president.

Nicanor Duarte Frutos is married and has 6 children of her own. The name of his wife Maria Gloria Penayo Solaeche.

Few months ago he met with, the president of Taiwan in Paraguay, Chan Shui-Pian. President Shui-Pian Chan came to visit Paraguay from May 5 to May 7. Together, the two president’s seats down and speak more about the topics that will benefit both nations.
