Dr. José Gaspar Rodriguez de Francia was born on January 6, 1766 in Yeguarón. He is recognized as El Supremo, who was the first leader of Paraguay after its independence.

Luis Maria Argana, born on 9thOctober 1932 in Asuncion, was the vice-president of Paraguay between 1988 and 1999. He was shot to death on 23rdMarch 1999, in the street called as “ Diagonal Molas Lopez ” of Asuncion.
Juan Bautista Gil Garcia was a very famous president of Paraguay. He was born on 28th of October 1840 and was elected as president from 25th November1874 to 12th April1877. Gill was born in the capital of the country, Asuncion.
