Paraguay government declared a state of emergency in response to attacks by EPP rebel group

President Fernando Lugo signed the measure recently, by declaring emergency for 60 days in the San Pedro and northern departments of Concepcion. The measure allows the government to mobilize the armed forces and the suspension of certain civil liberties for the duration of the period.

The government is still allowing for a mulling to donate helicopters to its political friend, the Republic of Paraguay, and bureaucrat said recently. The Executive general of the Division of Latin American, James Wu, and Caribbean Affairs under Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), prepared the remarks to refute a previous report that the government has decided to Paraguay 11 US-made UH-1H helicopters."The content of the report is correct," said James Wu.
