Luis Alberto del Parana-A Complete Artist Ever

Luis Alberto del Paraná

Luis Alberto del Parana, born on 1926, was one of the famous guitarists and singers. From the fifties till the seventies, Luis Alberto traveled around the world with Los Paraguayos, his music group. He always wanted to popularize Paraguayan music and for that he went on to various countries.

He is considered to be the best Paraguayan musician.

It was said that Luis was meant to be an artist from the age of 18 and it was clear when the people in old Rex Theatre were attracted towards this young boy. Luis formed a band with Agustin Barboza and Dingo Garcia after returning from the Center American tour. This band got the name “Los Paraguayos Threesome” and very quickly grabbed the attention of government as they were paid $3200 each for an “official cultural mission” to popularize Paraguayan music. He had two wives Lissette Cairoly - a French circus princess and Carmen Gonzalez Caballero who was a Spanish dancer.

The contract of the band “Los Paraguayos Threesome” expired and the band got dissolved. After the band was dissolved, Luis started a new band with brothers Rubito Medina, Jose de los Santos Gonzalez and Reynaldo Meza, and the band was named “Los Paraguayos.” Ambassadors of Romance and Famous Latin American Songs were the first recorded LP's by the band for Phillips in Netherlands which was very successful. The band had no flops and every song was a hit that the band recorded.

uis died from a brain stroke on 15th September 1974 in the Prembridge Court Hotel located in London, England. The casket of Luis was brought to Asuncion, where a huge rally was organized in which many dignitaries and the President took part. This was the biggest rally that the nation has ever seen and many people were on the streets to have a last glance of their idol. When Luis was alive the band “Los Paraguayos” sold more than 650000 tape cassettes and 20000000 records, traveling 1000000 kilometers for tours.
