The Museo Del Barro museum is established in Paraguay to exhibit some of the unique and contemporary pieces of ceramic which are prepared in Paraguay. The museum was established in 1979 and commonly called as the Museum of Mud or Clay.
The Museo Del Barro is constructed in a modern building which is near from City Center in the capital of the country, Asuncion.
Over the years, the highly developed innovations with kilns have enabled many Paraguayan artists to develop various new and unique kinds of sculptural art. Many of these art pieces can be found at vendors, all around the area. The museum was considered as an important and best tool to showcase some of these works, in a gallery style environment.
Along with the attractive pieces that are on display, the interior of the building is very beautiful. There is lot of information that is displayed on the pieces. The museum also has a special section for the permanent exhibitions.

The numerous masks hanging on the walls of the museum serve as a proof of how strong the people of Paraguay believe in the popular traditions. These kinds of masks are worn by many Guarani tribes and are also worn during the fiestas.
Museo Del Barro also exhibits some dramatic figures of the saints; some of which date back to sixteenth century and some of them are of modern day. There are also several exhibits that showcase the talent of the local artisans in the craft of Nanduti.
